Materials and craftsmanship
Vegan leather is a coated fabric rather than animal hide. It is animal-free, it wipes clean instead of needing conditioner, and it holds colour more evenly than hide does — but it will not develop the patina real leather does over decades. We would rather tell you that than let you find out. Structure comes from an internal former and a reinforced base, which is where the 1.8 lb empty weight comes from. A satchel without that former is just a soft bag with a buckle on it.
